Fringe Buggy, Fall 2017-Present

Our latest buggy Baltic (Yet to be painted and raced because of COVID-19)
Buggy is one of CMU's biggest traditions where teams build a bobsled-esque carbon fiber vehicle with a pushbar. There are drivers that lie inside of it to steer and five pushers that push it around the course. Being a buggy mechanic is a time-consuming but highly rewarding endeavor that builds camaraderie with everyone else on the team. It's amazing to play such a big role in making the buggy go from nothing to the beauty it is when complete. I have aided in the foam mold process, shell wraps, bodywork, windshields, braking and steering of our latest buggies which have won the design competition.
As someone who is also a pusher, it is especially rewarding because I have pushed all of our buggies and it's truly an amazing feeling to be pushing our new buggies which I helped create and feeling the difference. I know that they are better both from how I feel when I push and looking at times. I have had the privilege of pushing on our Women's A team at Carnival the past two years and hope that I have the chance to this upcoming spring especially as Spring 2018 we were only 1.19 seconds from our org record and know that we can break it.
